Hollow sections bending is the bending moment formed by the unidirectional contact between the outer roll and the outer wall of the tube blank to bend the strip. Hollow sections causes the bending line to compress. The compression effect makes the bending line lengthen longitudinally and the metal in the bending place to accumulate and thicken. This is the compression thickening effect of hollow sections bending.
1. The advantage of
hollow sections is that it is possible to bend side lengths when it is impossible to do real bending, such as synchronous bending and finishing of the upper lateral edges of hollow sections. Hollow sections can also bend the inner corner of without breaking the tube wall.
2. The disadvantage of hollow sections is that the upper and lower rolls produce pressure at the same time, the forming force easily exceeds the critical point, resulting in side instability and concave, and will also affect the stable operation and forming quality of the unit. This is also the different characteristics of rectangular tube and circular tube blank forming.
