low temperature embrittlement of stainless steel pipe - low deformation energy at low temperatures. In low temperature environment, the phenomenon of low elongation and shrinkage is called low temperature embrittlement. It is mostly produced in the ferrite body series.
Low-temperature processing of stainless steel pipe--quenching martensitic ASTM A312 Stainless Steel Pipe from austenitizing temperature and then cooling to very low temperature to promote the production of martensite quenching method. Suitable for easy production of retained austenite stainless steel.
The resistance, linear expansion coefficient, thermal conductivity, mass hot melting and magnetism of stainless steel pipe will change greatly at low temperature. Resistance and linear expansion coefficient decrease at low temperature; thermal conductivity and mass heat capacity decrease sharply at low temperature; increases at the same time when temperature decreases. Because austenitic series stainless steel pipes have low MS point, martensite can be formed when kept below MS point. The formation of martensite at low temperature makes SUS304, the representative steel of austenitic stainless steel, nonmagnetic at room temperature and magnetic at low temperature.
