　　Since the 1930s, with the rapid development of high quality strip continuous rolling production and the progress of welding and inspection technology, the quality of weld seam has been improved continuously, and the variety and specification of welded steel pipe has been increasing day by day, and seamless steel pipe has been replaced in more and more fields. Welded steel pipe has lower cost and higher production efficiency than seamless steel pipe.

　　China's oil and gas pipeline construction continues to develop rapidly, especially with the rapid growth of natural gas demand, natural gas pipeline has become the focus of pipeline construction. By the end of the Eleventh Five-Year Plan, China will accelerate the distribution of oil and gas pipeline networks, and the backbone of oil and gas pipeline networks covering the whole country have been preliminarily built. In the future, China's API 5L Gr. B X52 Welded Steel Pipe supply support capacity will be further enhanced. Data show that by the end of 2010, the total length of China's oil and gas pipelines has been built is about 85,000 kilometers, including 45,000 kilometers of welded steel pipe, 22,000 kilometers of crude oil pipelines, 18,000 kilometers of product oil pipelines, formed across the East-West, north-south, covering the whole country, connected to overseas oil and gas grid.
